Sophie Levy is an Austin, Texas native and grew up in the Allandale area. Sophie went to high school just down the road from Dancers Shape at McCallum High School and was a part of the Fine Arts Academy, studying dance and choral studies. Sophie went to college at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia where she studied Neuroscience and Psychology and began a consistent yoga practice. During college, Sophie excelled in and tutored Anatomy & Physiology courses and continued to do so after college graduation. Her passion for this subject inspired her to take her yoga practice to the next level and complete a 200-hour certification program with Shakti Yoga University in Nashville, Tennessee under the instruction of Kelly and Lauren Farina. She has been teaching power vinyasa and yin yoga classes ever since, and is currently studying to earn her 300-hour teaching certification with austin yogis Jenn Wooten, Shanti Kelley, Iva Drtina Hall, and Shawn Kent.
Sophie is passionate about fitness and enjoys running and taking Dancers Shape classes in addition to yoga. Yoga inspired Sophie to find joy and fun in the process of exercising and loves how it is a tool for self-study and building resilience. Sophie strives to make yoga accessible, inclusive, and empowering for all. She is excited to join the Dancers Shape team and grow as a teacher in the many modalities of the Dancers Shape method.
