Up for the Challenge: Week 5

Another week down and the New Year’s challenge has finally begun! I’m sharing my experience every week on the Dancers Shape blog to bring some inspiration to others, and keep myself focused. This officially marks my halfway point, and I have some exciting results to share!

Since beginning the Holiday Challenge on December 1st, I have lost 10 lbs! If that’s not great enough, Jennifer took my measurements today and I’ve lost 2 inches off my waist, 1.25 inches from my hips, ¾ of an inch off my thighs, and ¾ of an inch from my arms. I am so thrilled with these results and I feel so encouraged to keep going! I am especially happy to see the inches come off my hips since that is where I carry a lot of my weight. I think the Dancers Shape classes really help to target those areas a lot of women would like to reduce (like waistline, bum, & triceps). I really recommend taking your measurements and revisiting them monthly if you are trying to lose weight. The results make me feel so excited and ready to keep going through January.

Since the holidays, I feel like I’ve been a little bit more relaxed with my diet. I am going to try harder to eat healthier and keep pushing to reach my goals. For the New Year’s challenge, I will be taking at least 16 classes this month - so I will be doing more workouts as well. This week I did Power and 2 Shape classes so far. I went to Shape two days in a row and I could really feel it on day 2!

I know there are some new fellow challengers joining me at this point. If you have any good tips to share, put them in the comments! Also, don’t forget that you can win extra motivational prizes every week this month by posting to the Dancers Shape Facebook wall, tweeting them, or tagging them on Instagram. I’m looking forward to seeing your check ins!

Note: Laura is not a doctor or a dietician and this is only a plan for her. If you’re thinking of beginning a new exercise or diet plan, check with a doctor first to get some guidelines on what will work best for you and your goals.
