DS Instructors Try Snap Kitchen- Rachel

I am a full-time fitness and dance instructor teaching. I dance with a contemporary company and direct another company, so I am always on the go. I love it, but my schedule leaves little grace if I haven’t meal prepped the night before. I decided to try Snap meals for every dinner that took place between teaching my classes since that is the meal that always seems to get missed. It is very difficult for me to find meals that don’t leave me tired and a little nauseous when I need to eat quick and then jump back into moving so I was very interested in seeing how Snap would leave me feeling.

What can I say, it was 10’s across the board.

Never have I had such varied foods that left me feeling satisfied and and energized to finish my evenings strong.

Going in to select my meal was exciting every time because there were always new options and plenty of variety. My favorite meal from Snap Kitchen has to be the Shrimp and Chorizo Paella paired with the Tumeric Tonic. Oh my goodness! I mean it wasn’t just “good for a microwaved meal” but it rivals the paella dish I get from a favorite upscale Spanish Tapas restaurant back home. The Tonic was light, refreshing, and oh so energizing. My second favorite dinner was the Butternut Chicken Macaroni. It was my first meal from Snap and I thought the combination of ingredients looked interesting with the squash, goat cheese, and walnuts atop the noodles and chicken. I can’t tell you how shocked I was at how great I felt after eating that bowl, when pasta usually leaves me with only the strong desire for a nap!

My favorite breakfast meal was the Snappy Bites Cheesy Egg Cups with sweet potatoes. Yum! Simple, just enough flavor, but not too much for early in the morning when I’m not hungry, but need to eat before I jump into a rehearsal.

The vegetarian dishes were spectacular though my favorite was definitely the Veggie Lasagna! It was just a big slice of veggie comfort food that I could eat between classes and feel full, but not bloated and heavy as a normal lasagna might.

I have to admit, I was a bit wary of eating a bunch of meals that I would be microwaving (especially anything with eggs!) but I was constantly surprised by the great quality of food, texture, taste, everything. Besides the great quality, I have to say that one of my favorite things about Snap were the portion sizes and options. My eyes are often bigger than my stomach when I’m looking for food in between classes, which then cause me to eat too much or waste it, but these were perfect.
