Sweating for the Wedding: Guest Blogger Kick-Off

I’ll admit it: I’m hooked on the high-energy classes at Dancers Shape. The friendly atmosphere and challenging workouts have kept me coming back to the studio for the past year.

I’m Crystal, and I enthusiastically jumped at the opportunity to be a guest blogger for Dancers Shape when owner Jennifer McCamish told me she planned to launch her business into the blogosphere. I’m a professional writer by day, and I have a passion for health, fitness, and beauty. I dedicated much of my childhood to gymnastics, and I’ve always felt my best when I’m most active.

I hope my blog posts will inspire you to achieve your health and fitness goals while learning more about what Dancers Shape has to offer. As you follow me throughout the coming months, you’ll witness how I fare at keeping my sanity and sculpting my physique while preparing for a March 2 wedding. I’ll share exercises with you targeted by muscle group in a series called Sweating for the Wedding, and I’ll serve as fitness guinea pig in a sequence titled New Kid in Class. I’ll also give you a glimpse into the Dancers Shape instructors’ lives through Personal Profiles. In the weeks leading up to the big day, I hope to achieve improved muscle definition and to manage stress through exercise.

Let me tell you a bit more about why Dancers Shape is part of my fitness regimen:

  • The classes flow. Danceable music provides an infectious beat that establishes a rhythm to the exercise routine. There’s never any lag between sequences, and the time seems to fly by.
  • The instructors know what they’re doing. The ladies leading the classes all have dance backgrounds plus an additional fitness certification, and they’ve received injury prevention training.
  • Dancers Shape is a one-stop shop. I like knowing I can get cardio, core, yoga, andstrength training all under one roof.
  • The studio feels like a fitness boutique, not a gym. As soon as I step inside, I’m centered and comfortable. The instructors and staff foster an unintimidating environment with health, safety, and fitness at the core.
  • You don’t have to be a dancer to look like one. I’m no prima ballerina, nor do I have the “moves like Jagger.” But I still reap the benefits of classes that incorporate various types of exercises dancers use to stay lean and strong.

I’m excited to share my journey with you!
